Cupcake Courier in Toronto Sweetens the Deal

March 10, 2014

Freshly baked, richly iced cupcakes displayed in pristine condition get a person’s mouthwatering. They are admired from afar before being devoured in minutes. Imagine if those cupcakes for your wedding rehearsal dinner, birthday party, or baby shower arrived looking disheveled, would they appear as tasty then? When it comes to food, presentation is a critical part of the deal. With cupcakes, presentation is even more important because they become part of the atmosphere of sweet anticipation.

Consequences of Unprofessional Delivery

Say you order cupcakes and have them dropped off by a delivery driver with no cupcake experience. They slid around on a seat or maybe fall off the seat. The car was too hot and the frosting melted. When they get to an event, the coordinator would have a lot of explaining to do. At a personal function, the result would be disappointing. If the event were public or corporate, perhaps a fundraiser or gala, the reputation of the host would be badly affected by the obvious choice to cheap out on delivery.

Delivering Cupcakes

In the midst of preparing for an event, picking up cupcakes is not something an event planner wants to deal with. For one thing, that is another task on an already busy day. Secondly, as organized as an individual is, it takes skill, experience, and foresight to get cupcakes to their destination in one piece.

A cupcake courier in Toronto, for instance, would possess the proper vehicle. He would ensure items were stored in correct boxes or on trays. Even vehicle specifications are important. It has to have:

  • A flat space to lay cupcakes where they will not slide around
  • Air conditioning
  • Good shocks

If you are picking up cupcakes for someone but do not possess a professional delivery vehicle, you must at least ensure all of these things are true. For cupcake deliveries in Toronto, it is also important to choose a bakery that is within the GTA so cupcakes are not wilting in the back of a van for a long time.

Choosing a Cupcake Courier in Toronto

You could have a problem finding a dedicated courier familiar with carrying perishable and delicate goods such as cakes and cupcakes to their destinations. Most delivery companies will do the job quickly, but the treats might not arrive intact. There are a few Toronto-area couriers with experience in custom deliveries, including handling delicate cargo. They offer time-sensitive services to their clients.

Another Approach

You could look at your search in another way, starting with the bakery. Toronto has no shortage of bakeries: why not choose a company that also delivers? So long as your event takes place within a stipulated radius, they will consider looking after your job. The minimum number of cupcakes they will handle is usually two dozen or more. There are benefits to choosing a bakery that delivers:

  • A dedicated van designed for carrying delicate, perishable cakes
  • Knowledge of how to package cakes for delivery
  • Temperature control
  • Pride in their company which motivates them to be especially careful

The back of a bakery van might be fitted with stacked trays. They are deep and high enough to prevent squishing, but not wide and deep enough to encourage slipping and jumping. Cupcakes are still positioned carefully within special boxes.

Any baker who is also a cupcake courier in Toronto also has the chance to advertise using the van as a mobile commercial. The outside of some vans are painted to look elegant, colorful, or crazy but creative: just like cupcakes.
